No Search Model Is Perfect, Not Even Social Search

Social networking and social bookmarking have caught on. I'm sure you've noticed. It seems there is a push among a certain in crowd to force social search to replace traditional search. WebProNews is the next to get on the bandwagon, as is Search Engine Land. Now I respect both outlets, but I'm not convinced that social search will replace Google any time soon. Maybe at some point in the midst of migrating over to Web 3.0 (whatever that is), but not any time real soon. Arnaud Fischer of Search Engine Land said: 41.2 percent of users report that general search results are often not directly relevant to queries, and 18 percent leave a search engine without having found the information they were seeking. That said, one of the best Google SEO related blog is by Google engineer and SEO Guru Matt Cutts. I tend to visit this blog at least once a week to read up on what is new and how it may impact my clients.
