Personalization Won’t Be The End Of SEO

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Despite her failed attempts at humor and a reporting style that exhibits all the choppiness of a huge lake on a windy day, Lisa Barone wrote a pretty decent piece on personalization in today's SiteProNews. I've got just a few comments on it. In case you’re wondering why only Google and Yahoo are represented at today’s session, Danny says that Microsoft and Ask declined his offer because they didn’t have much to say about personalized search. Insert your own joke here. Lisa Barone should start a search engine for personalized bad jokes. Still, this is telling about the four major search engines. Only Google and Yahoo are concerned about personalization. Microsoft and Ask will get left in the dust if they don't start thinking about this CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Link Building For Traffic And PageRank Status

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

The question still remains, is the Google PR Toolbar a valid marketing tool? Should you use it? One can only speak from experience, I have always used the Google PR Toolbar and find it helpful in assessing what Google thinks of a site or page. I rarely link out to sites anymore but if I do I always check any potential linking partners to see their PR. Any site with PR5 or over I will link to it if that site is related and has high rankings for my site's own targeted keyword phrases. I also check out the number of outbound links on that page, lower is better because the amount of PR passed along is divided equally with the other links. Sometimes I will CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Seven Pay-Per-Click Principles (Habits) To Rely On (Of Highly Effective Advertisers)

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Memorial Day - you'd think this guy was out surfing or something. Instead, he was working. Memorializing his fingers to the keyboard. Still, I like what he has to say about pay-per-click management. 1.- Separate Content from Search Online Marketers need to view their contextual listings campaigns differently from search, because the results and the customer are different. It is normal to expect lower clicks and conversion rates, with it not being a qualified, targeted lead. This does not necessarily mean an advertiser should not participate in content buys that decision is ultimately up to the statistics. The separation provides much more insight into what is working, and more importantly what is not working. Amen to that. This is very important to remember. Blog Tip: One Small Step To Going Social

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Put your blog on the social marketing map with one quick, easy step. It's almost a no-brainer and anyone can do it. What you do is add a bookmarking icon to your blog. There are several out there you can choose from: Socializer AddThisBookmark AddThis Those are three of the most popular bookmarking widgets, though not by any means the only ones. I use AddThis. The widget allows your readers to bookmark your blog entries with a simple click of the mouse. No matter which bookmarking service they use they can perform a one-click bookmarking maneuver right from your blog. No need to visit del.icio.us, Digg, or Reddit to bookmark your website. Google Universal And Vertical Search Optimization

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

SEOs are now speculating about Google Universal and how optimization techniques will change as a result of Google's new direction. The most intelligent thing I've seen so far is the idea that it will be necessary to optimize web pages, blogs, etc. for each vertical search technology owned by Google in order to ensure a more likely listing in Google Universal. I'd have to agree. What that means on a practical level is that you will have to ensure you have different elements of search engine marketing on your website and blogs and make sure you optimize them correctly. Here are some of the vertical search models you will need to target individually: Google Video Google images Google Maps Google Local Google News Google Blog Search Google Photos Google Books Google Patents Google Products These are just CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Search Engine Rankings Rely On Many Key Factors

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

It is important, when you discuss SEO techniques, that you not over-emphasize certain key criteria in ranking systems. For instance, a conversation recently between a colleague and I centered around keyword density. My colleague, as bright a guy as he is, kept stressing the importance of a density somewhere between 3% and 7%, saying that keeping the keyword density of your web pages in that range will increase your chances of ranking well in the search engines. Well, yes and no. It's a bit of a cliche and somewhat trite, but that's a standard response. Keyword density is simply the number of times a specific keyword is used during a body of content versus the number of words in the content itself. That is, you take CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
