A Real Life Example Of Pingback Marketing
Writing by Nick Stamoulis on Friday, July 13, 2007
Every now and then I like to return a little link love to those who have been faithful to me. This week I’d like to point out one admiring reader who has been faithful to a fault.
Who Said That? is the end of week blog by Create Business Growth. Who Said That? visits blogs and websites and makes a list of interesting things being said in the blogosphere that week. I’ve made the list for three weeks in a row. What an honor!
Today, I was plugged for my posts on blog optimization this past week. Of course, I didn’t write those posts to be recognized. I’m just trying to help bloggers achieve better search engine rankings for their blogs. I thought the information could be useful. You see, there is a meme floating around that blogging is good for business. Indeed it is. But it’s even better if you do it the right way and the right way means attracting some Google juice.
I’m honored to be included among great company such as Zig Ziglar, who contributed Create Business Growth’s tag line, Mihaela Lica, who wrote a great post telling us what a meme is, and Sarah Lewis, who reminds us to set goals for our business blogs. You see, you can get some really good information from CBG.
For the past three Fridays I have been included in Who Said That? and I always enjoy the creative ways they pingback to my blog. A pingback, if you don’t know, is when you write a blog post about someone else and your comment appears on their blog as a comment. It’s a great way to join someone else’s conversation while subtly inviting them into yours. It works! And the side benefit is you get valuable links back to your blog. This is a great technique for new blogs that are trying to increase their readership and PageRank. Used effectively, pingbacks can be excellent marketing tools.
Thanks Who Said That? for giving us today’s lesson. If you want to see the WST pingbacks to Search Engine Optimization Journal, here’s a short list:
Scroll down to the comments at the bottom of each blog post and you’ll see the respective pingbacks in all their glory.
