Landing Page Optimization by Tim Ash - Book Review

Writing by Kate Dickman on Wednesday, 4 of June , 2008 at 8:05 pm

Landing Page Optimization by Tim Ash is the comprehensive guide to optimizing your landing page design. Many times conversion rates will be low simply because the landing page isn’t what it should be or it did not have the proper optimization to get the visitors there in the first place.

By reading this book you will learn all the skills you must know in order to improve your bottom line, gain insight on the decision making of customers¸ identify critical parts of your website, develop a game plan and avoid common mistakes. Also with your purchase you receive a companion website and a detailed guide of the Google Website Optimizer tool.

The book also contains several case studies, workable strategies and is a unique resource to help make your landing pages more profitable. It is a must-read for any internet marketer as its often the most common place to get stuck. It goes through explaining how to test your landing page and make it most effective.

Ash is the go to guy when it comes to landing page optimization and the book is the most recent and thorough book on the subject. It is extremely well researched and is easy to read without being condescending. It does however speak much of math and theory which can scare some away so do not expect many pictures or overall visuals.

For those looking for a quick read, this is not the book for you – this one will take some time but will give you the tools to accelerate your website efforts.

Hi Kate,

Thanks for your kind words about my book. As you mentioned, it is pretty comprehensive, but I have tried to write in an accessible style that should work for most people. It is a detailed guidebook, so don’t expect any tactical advice like “always make the call-to-action button green”. But if you want to know all of the important background material that you will need to be successful with your own landing page testing my book should be a solid place to start.

Warmest regards,

Tim Ash - President, SiteTuners.com
