Google Chrome – A New Web Browser or a Google Fad?

It is hard enough to build a site that is compatible with both Firefox and Internet Explorer, we now have to get used to Google’s version of a browser, Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is the first browser to be built from the ground up specifically for web 2.0 It is reported to be faster than Firefox – that is not hard since it seems to get slower with age, and more user friendly that Internet Explorer – that is not hard either, it’s made by Microsoft!
Chrome has been put together to make video, web-based games, chat and internet banking a lot easier and a lot smoother. It will be interesting to see if any of those claims hold up under intense user pressure.
Down the line, if it does prove to be successful, Firefox may find itself under pressure to hold its position just in behind IE 7. If Google Chrome is successful then Firefox, who have been battling slow speed problems, then they may find themselves back in third place.
In the online world of politics, this is an interested war now, with Google having, in the past, supported Firefox – they are now going head to head. All we need now is for Yahoo! to become another browser and Firefox to become a search engine.
