Cool SERP Feature, But Where Is It?

Marketing Pilgrim reports that Google has added a new feature to its blog search SERPs. The feature is the addition of the number of blog posts made, the number of authors, and the date of the last blog post. Cool feature. Except that when I searched for blogs by keyword I didn’t see that feature in the SERP anywhere. I’d like to see it. Very helpful.
While this feature only has useful applications for blog search, I do think something similar could be instituted for static websites. How about: Last Updated. It would be helpful if Google could tell us how outdated the information is that we’re looking at in the SERPs. That way, if a searcher types in “Banana recipes” and the top listing in the SERP is from a page that was updated in 2001, that would be helpful to me. I might not want to visit a website that was last updated that far back.
Such a feature could also motivate website owners to update their websites a little more often. I think it’s a good idea to update every page on your site at least once a year - at least those pages that you want visitors to.
It’s good to see Google still innovating. It means the search engine is still relevant and likely will be for quite come time.
