WWW Or Non-WWW?
When you go to register your domain name you’ll be asked one very important question. Do you want your domain name to include www or not? For search engine optimization purposes it doesn’t really matter which one you choose. There are no special benefits to having it either way. Even for marketing and branding purposes, one is about as good as another. Why then do the registrars ask?
Well, it’s really academic. When a user types in your domain name into their browser then their web brower returns the information for the specific location requested. If your site sits at www.mysite’sname.com and the user types in the domain name with the www, they wont’ find your website. They’ll likely just get a 404 error page UNLESS you have your DNS servers pointed at the domain name that you want them to find. In other words, you need to point the non-www domain name to the domain name that uses the www.
A group of non-governmental governors who are responsble for issuing domain names have decided that only one domain name will be appointed for each pairing of www and non-www URLs. Simply put, that means that our website’s domain is peckerwilly dot com then no one else will be able to register the peckerwilly dot come with a www preceding. If you want to get traffic from both domain names (and you should) then you’ll need to redirect one to the other. That is done through your host’s cpanel and if you don’t know how to do that you can contact your host to assist you.

One of the most important words in todays economy is INFORMATION. The second is DECISION. Everybody is trying to make a living and has something to sell. If you do not have enough INFORMATION you can not make the right DECISION. So what am I saying?
Simply this everyone is an expert and is willing to give you some information. How much of “some” information can you get before you have to pay for the “rest” of the information to make a DECISION is personal. I have found that by reading what the experts are willing to share with me before I have to pay for the rest of their expertise is worth my time investment. Reading simple pieces of information written by Nick and others have given me information that I might have never have known. Though quite simple in truth aticles such that written by Nick Stamoulis on Sunday, 7 of December , 2008 at 2:37 pm, could make all the differance in a profit or loss for you website based business. Do not be afraid to sign up for everyones news letters. You can quickly sift thru those that you can utilize and those you can’t. Sorry about the typos, I often think faster than I can type and then fail to correct, but you get the message.
