Yahoo! Announces New CEO
Writing by Nick Stamoulis on Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Yahoo! had a rough year last year. But they’re trying to get back on track and the announcement of a new CEO has the company pumped with new vigor.
Following on the heels of Jerry Yang’s resignation, the Yahoo! board has accepted Carol Bartz as its new CEO. Bartz has quite an impressive resume, including stints at DEC, 3AM, and Sun Microsystems. She also serves on the boards of Intel and Cisco Systems.
But WebProNews reports that Bartz has no experience in advertising or with search. Does it matter? Will she follow along the same path as Jim Lanzone of Ask and develop a big vision only to spin wheels and get nowhere or can Carol Bartz turn Yahoo! around and make it a real competitor with Google? Only time will tell, but is anyone else holding their breath?
