The Limitations Of Search Engine Optimization

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Search engine optimization is a great tool for any business, but it can’t do everything. It has limitations.

Yes, I said. SEO has limitations. Here’s what I mean:

Search engine optimization can’t sell your product for you. It can get you high rankings. It can deliver targeted traffic to your website. But it can’t sell. People can sell. Good content can sell. But good content and SEO are two different things.

Good content is what appears on your website, shares information that is relevant to your audience, pulls on heartstrings, and gets people to take action. Good content may not even be SEOd properly, but you hope that it is.

SEO is content that targets search engine robots and assists your website with ranking highly for your important key terms. If you really want your website to shine and deliver an ROI for your business then what you need is good content that is SEO ready, good content that achieves superior SEO. SEO by itself has too many limitations.

  • I totally agree – traffic is great but sales are better. We are finding clients where their site was achieving sales in good times but with the recession their conversion has slumped even if the traffic hasn’t.

Why? Partly because there are fewer sales to go about, but also probably because people are taking decisions on different bases from before. Their site needs to sell harder/differently.

I think that is true therefore i have opinion where website or page like a sand in the beach or dessert, that’s the big problem for seller how to be shining sand in the night.

  • I think the landing page have to be attractive and give ways to user to check and buy your product… so… SEO is good, because you get more page views… but it do not mean new deals…
