Would You Want Google Optimizing Your Pages For You?

Yahoo! has worked hard to try and set itself apart from its competitors. Sometimes it succeeds as in a few days ago when they announced Search Pad. But there have been times when the search engine known as Yahoo! failed miserably. It’s happened so often that some of us have come to see Yahoo! and failure as synonymous.
It’s harsh, I know. And it might be difficult to imagine that Yahoo! is still the second place search engine after all its failed attempts at being innovative. But one thing we can say about it is this, they’re not afraid to take risks.
Bill Slawski of SEO By The Sea wrote a blog post recently about Yahoo! patent for automatic SEO. I agree with Slawski’s analysis completely. There are way too many problems fraught with any search engine automatically optimizing your web site. Would you want Google telling you it will optimize your web pages for you?
Here’s the biggest problem I see with automatic page search engine optimization: How will the search engine do this for competitors trying to rank for the same search term? At some point there will be some favoritism. Not everyone can be No. 1. But the search engine will have make one of them No. 1. Will it choose the one that the search engine itself optimized or will it choose you?
Now don’t you think that’s a silly idea?

Yes Nick. I totally agree it is a silly idea
