SEO Is Content Marketing And Vice-Versa
Most people that read this blog on a normal basis should understand the basics of search engine optimization by now. They may not have a technical knowledge of it, or it may be limited, but practically everyone doing business online understands the importance of SEO. But what is new and what many Internet marketers have not grasped just yet is the concept of content marketing.

Content marketing, in a word, is your dialogue with your customers. Anything that you put on your website is content. It’s not just copy. It also includes forums, blogs, user comments, etc. Content marketing is taking your content and using it to attract new customers.
Isn’t that what we’re all doing?
No. Not all of us. Some of us are still stuck in 1995. Using SEO to market the business. On site optimization is necessary, of course, but SEO alone – technical SEO – isn’t going to market your business and generate sales, leads…conversions for your business.
One way to see the difference here to understand that SEO is food for search robots while content is food for human visitors. While you want to fee the robots, it’s much more important to feed the visitors who will come and who have money to spend. Those human visitors feed off of content. Give them valuable, unique, and original content that helps them with a need and you’ll have an effective content marketing plan.

All strikes me as one big loop feeding of each other, with sites feeding of visitors, visitors feeding of content, robots feeding off SEO in content. . . Who’s feeding off the robots?
@atommedia – Very good point, indeed!
