SEO Is Content Marketing And Vice-Versa

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Most people that read this blog on a normal basis should understand the basics of search engine optimization by now. They may not have a technical knowledge of it, or it may be limited, but practically everyone doing business online understands the importance of SEO. But what is new and what many Internet marketers have not grasped just yet is the concept of content marketing. Content marketing, in a word, is your dialogue with your customers. Anything that you put on your website is content. It's not just copy. It also includes forums, blogs, user comments, etc. Content marketing is taking your content and using it to attract new customers. Isn't that what we're all doing? No. Not all of us. Using Twitter For SEO And Reputation Management

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Twitter recently updated its Title tags to benefit users. That's kind of a big deal. Here's why: If you want to rank well for your name then you should have several social media accounts. This is especially true if you have a common name. You are actually in competition with other Bill Smith's. Twitter putting your name first instead of its own name in the title tag is huge, because now YOUR name will be the term of primary importance to the search engines whenever they read that Title tag. New account holders or frequent Twitterers likely will not see page 1 results any time soon. But if you are a frequent Twitterer and you have an older account you will likely see your CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Why SEO Is Like Poetry

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

If you read a lot of poetry, no two poets are alike. Robert Frost has a distinctive voice and style. Edgar Allan Poe is a far cry from Walt Whitman, both of whom wrote in the same century and within 10-20 years of each other. SEO is a bit like poetry. What I mean by that is every search engine optimization firm and expert has a unique style. While there may be similarities in approaches and two experts can each have an equal amount of knowledge on the technical aspects but be vastly different in how they employ them, say as different as Emily Dickinson and Sylvia Plath. One poet can emphasize on site optimization more than off-page elements whereas another expert might emphasize off-page elements CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Google’s New Search Toy

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Google announced a few days ago that it's got new technology it's implementing into search results that offers related search terms. I think this is kind of cool and I wonder how long it will be before Google actually implements it into the search results completely. In other words, instead of offering searchers related search queries at the bottom of the SERPs, when will Google actually offer pages from those related search queries into the actual search results that appear. For instance, if I search for "love", the first two search results are for The Love Calculator and the Wikipedia entry on love. At the bottom of the page is a list of related search queries, just in case I didn't really know what CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Is Google Fracking Up The Universe?

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Aaron Wall lambasted Google this morning on his blog. I can't say it's not justified, but he hit Google hard. Is Google really all that bad? Quoting Danny Sullivan, Aaron Wall makes the point that if you are just a search engine optimization person then you are the scum of the earth in Google's eyes. But if you've written a book and achieved a certain level of success doing something else then you get a great big nod from the search engine dudes. Of course, he's quoting Danny from a comment he made on a Sphinn story. Question: Are we going to start seeing celebrity flame wars sparked by professional jealousy now that the old-time SEOs have some competition from cross-overs from other CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
