Thanks Brett for reading and sharing your thoughts!

Exactly! Sometimes the traffic building aspects over ride the "no follow" tags side of things...

Thanks again & take care,
Nick

Commenting on blog posts is definitely a good way to boost traffic to a site. While URLs in comments themselves have the "nofollow" attribute attached to them, it doesn't mean that you cannot reap the benefits of good traffic and opportunities.

I've picked up a lot of writing and development opportunities just from commenting. Jacob is absolutely correct in his statement.

Great post!

@Michael Gerard - Yeah it is very important to check comments to make sure they are not spammers using automated tools just to obtain a link from a blog...thanks for reading and your comment!

Good post for the smaller business Nick. . . and for some larger companies as well. As a marketing strategy and technology analyst, I check out all people that comment on my blog; and in several cases the posters have been marketing automation vendors that I wouldn't have otherwise known about.

@Jacob Stoops - This is so true, getting other bloggers to recognize you this way works but take time and patience...thanks for reading and the comment.

Blog comments are great, not only for getting traffic and more eyes to your site, but for establishing relationships with industry-leading bloggers.

If you leave enough comments on a blogger's page, they're sure to recognize you. This helps you get your foot in the door to start a relationship which could eventually lead to a high-quality link to your site or other opportunities such as guest posting.
