How To Become An Authoritative Website
If you conduct a search you will often find there are one or two results, usually near the top of the SERP, that have a set of links below the description. This is particularly true at Google. Those additional links are for internal pages to that website. How does one become one of those sites that has these additional links and is that a beneficial thing to have? To answer the second question first, yes, it is beneficial. It sets your website apart from every other website that shows up for that search query. It also means the search engine considers you a trustworthy and authoritative site for that search result. But that doesn't answer the question, How do you get there? The answer to the hows CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Cloud computing is often thought about in terms of data storage, not web development. But as it becomes more popular you'll start to see many more uses for it. For data storage purposes, cloud computing was thought to be a much needed relief for many companies. But it turns out that even Google has security issues with keeping data secure. What Is True Reputation Management About?
Michael Martinez at SEO Theory has a great post on reputation management. He brings out some really good points and I'd like to address a few of them: Counting backlinks is meaningless - Yes, it is, IF all you do is look at quantity of inbound links. As he mentions on his blog, there are numerous factors that a mere quantity count can't tell you, such as anchor text used, reputation of the sites linking to you, link age, etc. And to top it off, Bing doesn't report links and Google doesn't report all of your links. There is no way to tell just how many links Google is counting for you and what the quality of those links are. So counting backlinks is CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
BingTweets: What A Clever Idea
Google and Ask took to the TV, Bing is headed straight for Web 2.0 Nirvana with BingTweets! A partnership between Microsoft and Federated Media fuses the search results page of Bing and what's hot on Twitter. It's a pretty cool website, I might say, and a very clever marketing ploy on the part of Microsoft. This is probably the best marketing idea Microsoft has ever come up with and it makes you wonder why Yahoo! or Google didn't think of it first. Well, we know why Yahoo! didn't. Nothing innovative has come from out of those heads for at least nine years. And Google is too busy enjoying its lead role in search to care about being innovative. That leaves the innovative ideas to other players such CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
Is Google Freaking Out?
There has been some talk lately of Google's ranking algorithm and how erratic they seem to be right now. I wouldn't worry. We go through this every now and then, though I admit that it is usually over by now. If the author of this article is right and Google is experimenting with site trust factors then that's a dangerous thing to be messing around with. It could be a few days before we see an end to the current topsy-turvy. In general, however, these types of updates (assuming that's what this is) take place over a weekend or a couple of days and they're over. I'm not sure when webmasters started noticing a decline in rankings, but I'm reasonably sure it's been more CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
