The Paradox Of Page Titles – Magnetic Or Keyword Rich?
Should your page titles be keyword rich for your on site search engine optimization or magnetic to draw in the readers? I know many will claim that both are not only possible, but mandatory. To a certain extent I agree, however most website owners don't come armed with degrees in literature, marketing and journalism degrees all rolled into one. The paradox is simple. Great content with killer titles are useless unless you have an audience that is going to find those pages. To achieve this, you need well optimized pages that help those pages rank highly in the search results. However, if you rank highly in the search results, your pages need titles that draw the visitor in to read them. If you can write a CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Is Facebook A Safe Haven For Social & Viral Marketing?
Online social media marketing is under attack from a variety of sources with Facebook the latest to suffer. Hot on the heels of Twitter suffering denial of service attacks (DOS), Facebook is being loaded with rogue phishing applications. It brings into doubt the safety of using social media for marketing purposes. If one of those bad applications affects you, it could spread to all you connect with - certainly not great for your reputation and even worse for any possible viral marketing opportunities. Trend Micro reports on at least eleven applications that surfaced last week. The problem down the track is the effect it may have, not on marketing, but on business itself. Facebook now allows developers to sell goods through applications they develop. Think CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
Bing: Poor Site Structure Will Hurt Your Rankings
Can poor site structure hurt your rankings? Rick DeJarnette of Bing Webmaster Center says it will. Speaking in the Bing Community Blog, he stated: "You can have great content and a plethora of high quality inbound links from authority sites, but if your site’s structure is flawed or broken, then it will still not achieve the optimal page rank you desire from search engines." It shouldn't come as a surprise. We have reported in the past that poor site structure can be an obstacle to a search engine spider 'seeing' all of your pages. If they cannot see those pages, they won't visit them and they wont be indexed. So what does Bing suggest? Use descriptive file and directory names - this has become a standard in CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Can You Harness The ReTweet Phenomena
It seems that Twitter is going from strength to strength and the latest 'fad' is that of ReTweeting. If your not sure what a ReTweet is, in simple terms, it is the practice of someone taking your Tweet and Twittering it through to all their followers. Unlike social bookmarking sites where submissions are 'voted' on, ReTweets send the content from one group of followers to another. This is similar to Digg where you can vote of Digg a submission and also send it on to everyone who is following you. Whilst Digg is a little on the nose these days, Twitter is just gaining in strength. The question then is whether or not you can put this ReTweeting phenomena to use for your business.
