Add Real-Time Information To Your Website
Developers love APIs. And thanks to Twitter, the world at large is learning to love real-time information. Now, the two are beginning to merge as real-time search engines begin to attract attention.
There are several real-time search engines competing at the moment. One of them has had an API since June. Another one of the major competitors in the real-time search space – Collecta – is introducing its API right now.

Why is this news? This is news for several reasons, but for webmasters and search engine optimziation folks it can be pretty big news. Imagine programming real-time optimziation information into your website for your niche so that visitors to your site can see what’s going on in your industry right now. Would that be cool?
Well, that’s not a pipe dream, and it’s not Google or Bing or Twitter that is making that happens. It’s Collecta and OneRiot, but Twitter, through its API, can be involved in the process.
The bottom line for webmasters is keeping visitors on their sites longer and increasing their optimization efforts. Sounds like a winning strategy to me!
