The point with articles is to treat them as extensions of your own website. If you code like you write articles, then all is well. Of course, a scammy website author can only write scammy articles. On the other hand, someone who carefully tweaks their webpages will get traffic galore from articles.

Your point about using tags as dividers isn't particularly accurate. The general rule is to use the headline tags according to how your outline is created. Search engines aren't dumb - and will penalize those articles with offending content, just as they do your own web pages. Using everywhere won't go well.

The point of being edgy is just the point of good writing. If your articles don't stand out, don't invite participation - you won't get people clicking through to your site from the bio links.

Study good writing, and the popular articles, and you'll see the pattern you should be following. (And BTW, there are comments on the major article directories - if you're looking for some high PR backlinks...)

Wow- That just inspired me. I always thought maybe I was a bit to harsh, streetwise, and politically incorrect sometimes. But I always try to be truthful and to the point. Thanks Nick, you're the man.
