Don’t Be SEO Penny Wise, Pound Foolish

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

I had been working with this ecommerce SEO client for 4 years (who I shall refer to as Client X throughout this post) that had decided they wanted to do a site overhaul. I was all for it at the time and really excited for the opportunities brought on by the redesign. The site definitely needed to update their content on the homepage, increase the amount of content on other pages, and better incorporate call-to-action buttons throughout the site, etc. Plus, this gave me the opportunity to go in and incorporate appropriate SEO tactics into the site as it was being designed, which is always easier than doing it after the fact. I thought Client X had a great opportunity on their hands and was CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Breaking into the SEO Clique – One Year Later

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

About a year ago I wrote a blog post entitled “How to Break into the SEO Clique.” The post centered on one of my few personal frustrations with the SEO industry; the cold shoulder and cliquey attitude SEO professionals tend to have towards one another. The post focused on my relationship with a top SEO site that had asked me to stop commenting on their blog posts, even though I was submitting quality, well-thought out comments. I’d spend a half hour writing a three paragraph response only to have it rejected by the site administrator. Understandably, I was a little bit miffed. So as to not ruffle any feathers, I stopped commenting on the blog for a while, just as I was CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...

Fixating on Where You Rank Can Lead to Bad SEO Decisions – Video Tip

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Obviously every site wants to rank well for their chosen keywords. The better a site ranks, the more traffic it is likely to get from the search engines. But focusing solely on where your site ranks as the end-all-be-all goal of SEO can make website owners cut corners in order to artificially boost their rank. Taking such a narrow minded approach to SEO will actually limit the success of your website. The real goal of SEO should be to increase the amount of traffic being delivered to your site. Focusing on generating traffic, as opposed to rank position, will help ensure that you take a diversified, white hat approach to your SEO. Watch this week's SEO video tip from Nick Stamoulis here! Keep Your SEO Success Going!

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

The most important thing to realize about search engine optimization is that it’s different than other marketing methods. Unlike traditional promotions or pay per click ads, which can provide quick results, SEO takes time. It’s a long term building process and it sometimes takes many months to see results. It’s not a strategy that can be tested for a month or two. SEO results often depend on many factors such as the age of your website, the trust that you have earned with the search engines, and your competition. If you are in a competitive market with others that have been around much longer, it will take that much more time to improve your search engine and online presence. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...
