One of the areas of search engine optimization that can never be emphasized enough is your content writing. Content is what visitors are looking for no matter what type of website you have.
If you are selling products, your buyers are going to want information on the products they are buying. Sometimes it is the simple areas of content writing that let websites down. Whilst we may not undertake a search engine optimization program on a service agreement page, or warranty conditions pages, your customer are still going to want to read them. Poor content writing in this area can lead to confusion (when it comes to terms) and will harm your businesses reputation over time.
Looking at search engine optimization strategies, if you are targeting certain keywords and your own content spells these words incorrectly, you are not going to gain the complete benefits of that optimization.
In the longer term, the area of search engine optimization that has the biggest influence on your search engine rankings are your inbound links. You are not going to develop many inbound links if your content writing doesn’t provide anything worth linking too.
There is a simple philosophy when it comes to inbound links and content writing. Sit back, look at what you have written and ask yourself, ‘would I link to this content’. You have to be able to answer yes on every page. If you cannot answer yes then you need to rework that content. No search engine optimization program will help a poorly put together page.
SEO copywriting is not a difficult task. If you have something worth writing about then give it your best and produce a quality product. If you don’t have anything to say, you are often better off leaving the page blank, or hiring an expert to create the content for you. Content writers can write single pages, or multiple pages. It is all about quality, not quantity.
