10 Reasons to Create a Business Blog
So everyone keeps telling you to launch a blog and you know you have to do it but do you understand why it is important to launch a blog for your business? If you are not sure why you need to launch a blog here are some important reasons to get you thinking about doing it sooner rather than later.
Sure there are lots of blogs sitting around in almost each business space but that is no reason to not launch a blog for your business. Don’t be worried about competing against the other blogs in your industry.

Why is it important to launch a blog?
Here are 10 reasons to create a blog for your business:
1. More content added to your site which we all know the search engines like. Each blog post can be additional content being added to your website.
2. Additional pages being built from each blog post helping your SEO efforts. More relevant pages that you have the better your chances of your audience bumping into that page.
3. The ability to target more keywords on your website by positioning blog posts around keyword clusters.
4. Gives your business or website a voice so you can reach out to your audience and show them you have a personality.
5. The ability to position blog posts as pages in the search results.
6. You can post quick announcements about your business at almost any given moment.
7. The search engines have been known to really favor blogs.
8. If your blog becomes heavily trafficked you can start thinking about monetization aspects like advertising or pay for post type options.
9. Become an industry go to resource in your space positioning you as an authority in your industry over time.
10. A blog can allow you to tackle the social media space with greater force by leveraging each blog post in each of your social networks.
Don’t wait any longer to launch your blog if you have not done so already. Your audience will be glad to hear from you as long as you give them something good to read.

Though the benefits are higher, maintaining a blog requires a dedicated resource.
Excellent points. Do you mind if I refer to your post and site in my classes?
Hi . Would a blog be suitable for my website and how do I set it up . ?I built the website myself with a service provider in March this year to promote my rental property and it has been viewed 3,600 times. Is this good ,bad .o.k or average .?Any advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated . Kind regards . Veronica.
Nick – I totally agree with you now about blogs, but I sure was hesitant at first. I didn’t want to do it because I’m not really a writer. Then I thought it would be hard to come up with topics. Then I thought whatever topic I came up with someone else would have already written about it. But, I changed my mind. My website needs exposure and if a blog will help then blogging I’ll do. And I found to my surprise that I have no problems finding topics to write about.
Thanks Bob! Please feel free to refer to this post!

I understand how important it is to have blogs, but how what is the best way to create them? I have a blog section on my site, have created a business page on facebook however; like Jo Ellen Peters states, I’m not a writer so topics are a problem. Marketing dollars are low so I only use the free services so I don’t have to pay for additional domains and hosting. We have only been online since 11/6/10. Is something better than nothing?
Nick,
that’s true. If we don’t have Personal Blog with Ideas, than we’re Out “of the World” … and World are We, all ! So, We must be everywhere on the Time.
I`ve been putting it off and putting it off and putting it off but i think you gave me the nudge i needed with this post to start my blog. I`ve been thinking about how to approach this thing for awhile but i believe i`m starting to come up with a good idea that i will be able to expand on weekly.
Thanks again Nick.
Thanks Mark for reading! I am glad this post helped…best of luck with your new business blog!

Positioning the company as experts and creating social content are the two big ones for me. I wouldn’t put adverts for 3rd parties on a business blog, you may never see that traffic again.
