Add Flickr Into the Marketing Mix
Many businesses out there venturing into the world of search engine optimization don’t realize that photos often make for great ways to push through the SEO space online. You might already have many company photos sitting around that you have never really thought about putting online, but now you should. Take your images, fire up a Flickr account and always make sure you optimize the descriptions and titles of your images so they bounce around when people search. Never leave just the default title that populates when you upload your photos.
Here are some types of Photos to Upload to Your Flickr Account:
Physical Structure Photos
Most businesses have photos and images sitting around of the physical structure of the actual business building everything takes place in. Upload these into your Flickr account and make sure to label the name of the building incase people are searching online for your location.

Employee Pictures
Do you have some employees that are really out there and would love to have their picture on Flickr? Put them up because when your audience bumps into these photos it will show them that you have some great personality surrounding your business.
Company Events
If you have a company that hosts lots of events or parties you probably have images of those events. These are great to post to Flickr because a party will have a great deal of photos which will allow for some nice search result penetration.
Customer Photos
Does your business have great customers who wouldn’t mind being photographed? These photos would be a great addition to your photo sharing account. For any new potential customers or clients it could show them that your business has some very happy clientele enticing them to want to know more about your business or become involved.
Search engine optimization comes in many shapes and sizes and photo sharing is one important ingredient that comes into play when you start thinking about search engine marketing for your business.

Interesting idea Nick, I’ve never thought of this. When you say “optimize the descriptions and captions” do you mean add keyword phrases?
Hi Denzil,
Thanks for the message and for reading!
Exactly! Naturally incorporating your keywords in the descriptions may help the images come up in normal SERPs and even image search as well…
Thanks & Take Care,
Nick
