Where to Keep Up with Google SEO Changes?
Does the Google SEP song and dance have you sweating on a monthly basis? Does it seem like things are always changing before you even have the time to grasp the concepts that are almost out of date? Don’t be overwhelmed because you are not the only one. It takes a lot of time and dedication to keep up with everything Google is doing in today’s marketplace whether you are researching different technologies or just trying to keep up with the latest marketing trends there are a few ways to do it.
Here are some great areas you can keep up with the latest Google SEO stuff going on:
Google Webmaster Blog
The Google Webmaster Blog is one of the best areas to focus on when it comes to latest and greatest technology changes in their search feature. Since Google does very frequently make many different changes to their search technology they usually update all their changes in their blog on a weekly basis.

Google Webmaster YouTube Channel
The official Google Webmaster YouTube channel is amazing place to learn about different marketing methods for your website. Matt Cutts posts a new video almost every other day and answers questions from the community about various search engine marketing methods and then Matt Cutts answers those questions letting the community know what the right answer really is. There is a lot of hoopla that floats around the web and this YouTube channel really debunks some myths.
Industry Standard Blogs
There are many industry standard blogs that report on any Google SEO related activities as soon as they occur which is why it is important to either read every day or sign up to the best industry blog newsletters so you can be informed when changes occur.
Here is a list of industry blogs that I read to keep my updated on Google SEO changes:
Search Engine Land
Search Engine Journal
Web Pro News
Marketing Pilgrim
There are many areas online you can find the information you need. You just have to take the time to read through the material as frequently as possible because things do change drastically and it is important to be notified with the most recent changes and trends related to Google SEO and the search marketing industry.

The Google Youtube channels are a great resource, I have subscribed to a few of them
Hi Nick
I met Google’s VP Finance a couple of months ago, and asked him this question:
“With so many new websites coming online and competiting for optmized (SEO) keywords, how can any busy justify the investment in SEO as they will have a poor chance of getting a page-1 ranking?”
I hope you get the jist of the issue….needless to say the VP was more focused on Google AdWords!
what are your thoughts on the increasing – and unceasing – competition to get a new website on to a page-1 ranking?
Thanks
Thanks for this. When it comes to SEO, I follow a zillion blogs and resources. It’s great to see a couple I follow are listed here – confirms my trust in them. It’s a veritable minefield sorting the crap from the gold that’s for sure!
Cheers.
Hi Meraj,
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts! Many people still try to or think of SEO as an advertising type of medium (such as Google Adwords) and it is clearly not, nor should it be compared to advertising….SEO is a different animal all together! One that is long term and always evolving…
For a new website, you need to have a good job of on site optimization and solid (and ongoing and monthly) link building program in place. The other thing that you need with SEO (for new and older websites) is patience!
Thanks again for reading and best of luck with your website!
Nick

Thanks for a couple of new resouce blogs. Always interesting to systematically visit certain resources, versus nesletter subsciptions or using work / project searching to update knowledge.
The clever bit is getting the balance right

Nick,
Thanks for sharing these resources about SEO and Google. It continues to move at a fast pace, and with these blogs it will help us stay tuned and on top. Much appreciated.
All Great Resources Nick! What are your thoughts on Google being rumored that within 2 years they will primarily be a Local Search Engine. ( I’m thinking this will be the default, instead of “web” as the default) I’ve noticed Google caching and adding citations much quicker to Places listings in the last month.
Hey Nick,
Been reading your posts for a while. Great info. Thanks for turning me on to a couple more good blogs. As much as SEO continues to evolve – good white hat SEO practices seem to never go out of style.
Hi Nick,
I’m fairly new to Brickmarketing SEO Newsletter, but I did want to Thank You once again for the valuable information that I have been reading courtesy of Brickmarketing.
