Email addresses are very vital to collect over time so you can keep in touch with your website users and visitors. As long as you don’t abuse their information people will be happy to hear from you if it benefits them or their business in some sort of way. Don’t ever assume that a website visitor will look for the page where you have your newsletter sign up form. They will most likely never look for that area of your website. It is up to you to prominently display that info for them.
