Thanks, I handle the weblink building for our non-profit organization. I have been tempted to purchase links but even 29.95 is a precious amount of money for a non-profit. I guess I’ll stick with my plan of one a day building links.

Hi Nick

I have been doing so much of the link building and other useful tips you give me via email over the past six months and I have started to see results slowly in some areas, At first it was daunting because I felt like I was spending all my time sitting on my computer of an evening and getting no where. The hardest part is as you say finding quality areas to link and beating people there, challenging even still.

Great post, as always. I tried the Directory Maximizer just for grins and guess what? There were little to no results and I had to take a shower afterwards because I definitely felt like a spammer after that. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the much needed info , I have always been the impatient type, and I must say I hate having to do link building. Is there any wonder people like me go for (and get sucked in by) all the trashy “get a 1000 links now” schemes.

Good points Nick. Too often folks are expecting for traffic to come rolling in after a few links. We both know that is not the case. I spend a good deal of time managing the expectations of my clients regarding realistic timelines for site growth in relation to linkbuilding and the other aspects of their SEO campaigns.
