As a white hat “by the book” SEO person, I recommend to trade links with another site only if there is a reason to and you have a personal business relationship with them and it makes sense. To trade links just for the sake of trading links is an outdated and non-effective link building technique that could result in some sort of search engine penalty. A great tips concerning link building technique. Qualtiy will definitely outweights quantity. What about reciprocal linking with relevant websites? Is it still okay?

Another great article Nick! I see so many software packages or services that do not seem to get this basic point. In my experience, the vast majority of quickie SEO promises still hinge on getting as many links back from any old site. They claim it works, I do not want to risk it personally.

Hi Nick!

Well said; related links to your site makes more sense and now search engines can better distinguish quality of links from quantity of links.
When I see offers for getting lots of links to a website, I can only wonder how many of those links would actually be related to the site topic (and actually help the site).
