Social Media monitoring and Link building are two methods that can go hand in hand to help businesses improve interactions with consumers, build brand image, and combat negative feedback. Sneaky link building methods will fail to accomplish any of these goals. Therefore businesses should work to build good links that offer value and contribute to their reputation not harm it.

Thanks for this article!

An interesting title Nick, as link building is not reputation management. I see Link building is an enabler for many things one of which is to highlight reputation by association.
Links with, to and from sites with a good and honest reputation does you no harm at all and can lead to you also being of a similar status. However the polar opposite is also true, so care is needed with whom and from where you build your links.
Content will always be king, and having a strong visible presence with a consistent message is key. Having a mechanism to discuss openly and freely with your customers and audience is also now a prerequisite and a must that enables a good brand and reputation management.
