You are absolutely right that natural link building wins, Well I want to say something that content based link building is the better way to derive the traffic to the website. Article marketing is the best way to improve the website traffic because it is totally content based marketing. People should understand the importance of article marketing and they should have a patience because article marketing does not work overnight, it will take time to get some benefits. So article marketing is the best to get better traffic to the website.

I read you make loads of sense by explaining how the search engine works….i know back in 1995-98 it was pretty much easy to have websites ranked as found. Now it’s much tougher to get ranked which i find a challenge…lolzzz…but thanks to your valuable information this will help gain knowledge and insight into what changes become available… great work and keep it coming.

You bring up some great points and that is why I ALWAYS recommend that EVERY business markets and promotes their business in many ways online and offline in addition to a strong SEO effort, for situations as you described…every business is different and should diversify their online marketing approach: SEO, social medial, PPC, Email Marketing, etc…

All said and done, your technique does not help this person…

1) A person with a relatively new website, say around 1-3 years old, with good content, good site.

2) Competitors with websites over 8-10 years old with PR’s of 6-8 and millions of backlinks and indexed pages, almost dominating google.

3) So now, are you saying that our person in question should wait for 5-10 years for his website to gain authority????

Hello???

He has to feed his children!! Your “natural” link building is not giving him food! Or maybe you people are just ignorant that all people are not as rich as people in your country to “wait” for natural results!

This is the main problem with people in the US/Uk and other “developed” countries. Sitting in your air conditioned office, eating meat, driving a ford is not something that people in other country can enjoy…

Very straight forward and to the point…we know that content is king but links are most important also. Most often this is missed by the startup and sometimes the mature business that has not made it a priority. Most businesses do not realize the importance of back links for ranking. Good job.

I am now a little worried, although i do try to natural link building, i did pay a company for 250 links in blogs/forms/link wheels and websites. all the content was pretty relavent but i hope it doesnt damage my already good listings.

You hit it right on the money. Search engines sure have become a lot smarter when people use things like article marketing, press releases, rss feeds, link submission services, social bookmarking, etc and all those other “guru” techniques that just seem to get you into more trouble wih the search engines. As you well know “slow and steady” wins the race.

I totally agree! I conduct site analysis all the time and found that article links seldom pull in any weight. Yes I am guilty of putting up hundreds of articles and find that its not showing much. The audits show that even simple postings on high PR forums give much more bang for the investment buck any day. So why waste time getting lost in the billions of trashy articles and blogs out there pretending to be some sort of ‘expert’ when most of the content are recycled or purchased from spinners?

You`re right on with this post. Natural link building is definitely the way to go.It`s nice when you leave a post and the owner of the blog deems your answer as excellent and he puts your link on many of his/her pages.
Building your brand and promoting your brand shows you have confidence as well as something worth exploring for searchers who are always looking for more and better content and offering.
Promotion is where i am presently -planning my FB page for my website

This is a great place to find the article that I was searching for “Natural link building” I am doing directory and article submission for our company web site and it gets ranking on top, 2nd rank in Google with the keyword “video conferencing India”. I used the keyword as anchor text.

What to do for “natural link building”. If you suggest or guide me it would be a great help
