Juggle Your SEO, But Don’t Be a Clown!

Writing by Nick Stamoulis

Search engine optimization can be a very time consuming process if you don’t effectively streamline your efforts. There is an endless amount of work and marketing items you can execute on any given day and you need to figure out how to make a balance between being efficient and over obsessive. Regardless of how much you do and how often you do it things take time to sprout in the search engines so don’t worry about seeing results tomorrow.

Prioritize Your Efforts

If you have been doing your own SEO for a while you probably know by now which websites bring in more traffic and which ones don’t do much of anything. Think about what is more important and head in that direction. Maybe you perform a social media campaign that is not as link heavy but pulls in nice targeted traffic or possibly you rather just build the links know the traffic might not be coming from that area. It all depends on what is important for your business at that time.

Make A Schedule
Pick a certain time of the day where you know you will get your efforts done with little interruption. If you are focusing on link building you can probably do it earlier in the morning. If you focus on social media try picking a time where you know more of your audience will be sitting at their computer. Make a schedule and try to stick to it as much as possible and you will see your efforts getting much more traction. Trust me if you don’t you will end up just trying to shoot from the hip every month and you don’t want to base your online marketing on that method.

When you decide to conduct your own search engine optimization it truly becomes a balancing act. Try not to stretch yourself too thin because if you do everything will end up suffering. You know your business best so try and figure out where you should spend the most time in order to maximize your time and your online efficiency. And most important of all, if you don’t have any time to put into your SEO, then forget about seeing any type of good results…and don’t become an SEO clown!
