Twitter Marketing – Create a Robust Strategy

Getting involved with the social community means much more than just starting up a Twitter account. Heavy communication and interaction is required in order to build a following on any social community and should be part of your Twitter marketing strategy.

Let’s break down how you can use Twitter to help increase your brand and your visitors. I still come across people’s Twitter profiles that do not have a URL in the domain section or even a logo or image uploaded. How could you promote your website on Twitter and forget to fill in these very important sections of the profile? Having an incomplete profile sends a very important message to your audience. Always brand your profile entirely to your business whenever using any of the social profiles. Remove the generic background and add your company logo or face along with a custom background to further carry your brand. Social media is all about consistency so you are going to want to put some sort of schedule together for yourself of items you want to post on a daily basis.

Below are some different angles for your Twitter Marketing you can take:
• Write in a blog daily and post link and title in your feed.
• Give a daily tip on your industry that will help your peers.
• Ask a question to generate back and forth conversation.

You can also combine all three of these to have a really diverse and robust approach to your Twitter marketing efforts. Don’t forget to target others to follow as well. You don’t want to aimlessly follow people for the sake of following. Make sure that you target others to follow. If they are relevant to you some will follow back. Over time you will build a nice stream of targeted traffic coming over to your website if you just target the right people to follow. Sign up to one of those services that send a personal message to a user when they start to follow you. This is a great way to ping them again once they just decided they want to hear more from you. If you offer a nice message you might even be able to really get on some of your audiences radar screens and over time generate some serious activity on your website. Twitter is more than just a profile and it has to be approached from a real marketing angle. If you don’t have the time to manage or maintain your Twitter account you should find someone that can plan and execute your Twitter marketing strategy. Some Twitter activity is better than none!
