5 Reasons Video Marketing is Important
Video marketing is not really a new hot topic but it is a topic of importance to help you grow your business. Online video marketing has now been around for a number of years and it is an area that is still continuing to grow as time moves on. Technologies that allow businesses to apply videos to their business model are also growing, making it even more important to get involved in some way for any business.
Here are five reasons video marketing is very important:
People Like Watching Videos
Most people would rather watch a video than have to read. That is the truth and if your company, products, or service require any sort of explanation take the time and put it in a video because your audience will respond with much greater force.

Decrease Website Bounce Rate
Whether it is one video or ten, your website bounce rate will decrease with a video. Depending on how well the video is made and how long it is you could really hold a website visitor on your website that much longer.
Your Videos Will Rank
If you upload your videos into the video sharing websites and really optimize them with nice robust titles, descriptions, and the use of links where you can, chances are that specific video will become a great candidate to really increase in rankings.
Still An Early Technology
Like everything digital, online video sharing technology is relatively new compared to older forms of marketing which means that the process is only going to grow from here. Sites like YouTube are only growing in power and strength and many businesses are already leveraging the amazing technology for opportunities that exist in helping to grow their business.
Increases Branding & Credibility
When a business creates a new professional video they almost put themselves in a new type of bucket from the standpoint of their audience. Branding increase and credibility is often times instilled into your website visitors.
Online video marketing is a young approach but reaps many benefits if approached correctly. Take the time to figure out exactly how to incorporate a little bit of video into your business model.

I’ve a question. If I want to insert some YouTube videos from Google blogs’ like inside AdWords then how is it possible? Is it really a good idea?
I agree and think you hit the nail on the head so to speak. Video marketing is definitely important, it’s one sure-fire way of attracting attention. Videos do increase rankings (which is a great reason to get involved in the video marketing hype), not only do they do that, they allow your customers, or those you want to be your customers, to get to know you… Rather than just reading text that you’ve written, it gives them a taste of what your personality is and a feel for who you are. There’s no reason why video marketing should be left alone by any business. I think, the fact of the matter is, it’s more important than they think – and anything to help their business, they should be doing.
Great post again, Nick. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks SEO Essex for reading and sharing your thoughts!
Thank you all for your fascinating and insightful comments so far. Much food for thought Some provocative ideas and viewpoints all around. I cant say that I agree with everything that you say but if i didnt acknowledge the legitamecy of your post I would be ignorant to your knowledge.
Hey Nick, good points here. I’m recording screencasts tutorials and distributing them to a wide network of video sites using Tube Mogul. It’s interesting to see how different networks will show up in the search results – not just YouTube.
Good points Nick! A simple video explaining your website or service can also help increase conversion rates. It helps customers better understand the value proposition.
I totally agree with the importance of video marketing. People respond well to stimuli which involve as many of their senses as possible. When people watch, they use their senses of sight and hearing, that’s why information may be processed and stored better than when simply reading or listening to it. With the fast-paced style of living, people want to get everything in just a second, so videos might do the task. Videos are compact but could be filled with all the important messages a company wants its audience or clients to know.

Nick, your points are well made. Video can add so much to any marketing effort. With improvement in broadband and easier to use video tools, most business owners can now consider video as a marketing tool.
Nice post! Video marketing is really coming of age in 2011. Companies that dive into social media are realizing that it is really difficult to hold people’s attention for long enough to make an impact. That’s where I find video really excels because when it is done right it is highly engaging and people love to share it with their friends.
Great key points Nick,
keep up the good work
I agree video is probably more appealing, but how does one create a professional video without breaking the bank?
I would recommend carefully planning your video project so as to minimize cost. Preparation and pre-planning can save you a considerable amount of money. in doing so you can storyboard and think through what kind of a video you want to create. It is easy to make changes from the storyboard and it does not cost as much if you already shot and needed to make expensive revisions. Planning out your video using professional techniques, using effective production values, can result in a great looking video. The net result could be potential savings. Use a good camera, not a flip, ensure your audio is clean, use a good microphone; and consider a good soundtrack to support your story. Using a combination of these production elements will not break the bank, but rather ensure your video is a solid communication effort.

Video for business is different than videos for YouTube. Many businesses host their videos on YouTube because it is cheap and it kills 2 birds with ine stone. However the videos that are getting watched on YouTube are mostly entertainment such as television shows, music videos, funny videos etc. or tutorials. One of my most watched video is a software product review video and the only thing it has done for my business is perhaps to help my search engine ranking. What business people need to understand is that people will watch a video on your website, blog or social networking site if it provides them with valuable information, clearly and quickly. Thus the message is what’s most important. The professional production elements only helps show that you care what you put out and thus communicates what you value This helps to build your image and trust with the viewer. But a professionally produced video means nothing if the message does not deliver something of value to the viewer or potential customer.
Yes, video marketing has quickly become one of the top ways to get the word out about your business. However, most webmasters and business owners are still clueless about how to create high quality videos that are effective at generating leads and traffic
Great post Nick – I agree Video marketing is very important specially with all the social media attention. A video can be all you need to increase business or traffic to your website.
Great post. I own a video production company, so I know the kind of power video has. If I may add something, choosing video is also a very smart investment because of its permanence. If you advertise in a magazine, that ad runs once and then that issue is thrown out by the reader(s). No one else will see your ad afterwards. Conversely, with a web video, you have it forever, and can reuse it whenever and however you like. That has tremendous value.
Great post! People are visual. If you provide them with an interesting and relevant message, it will always have more impact then a text based ad. My Two cents.
Cheers.
Totally agree NIck. The main advantage, I think, at this stage is that there is so much less competition in quality video’s vs all other static content.
Thanks
