Thanks for the question, I am not sure exactly what you are referring to when you mention tagging, are your referring to anchor text or social bookmarking tagging?

I just had this new website created so I am going to try and link build with this new site. Does it help by tagging your url with some name that describes what your website is about? I am new to seo.

Hi Nick, your surname is very close with mine. Anyway i like your blog and totally agree. Quality linking is superior to increase your ranking on google for a particular give keyword! Must also pay attention to the keyword…… You wan’t to increase your rankings on a niche keyword that people click on. Thats another story but cheers Nick from Perry Tsiamoulis in Sydney

Link building is a tedious process. It involves lots of time and energy. AffiliateX has mentioned staying clear of reciprocal linking(rl). Another disadvantage of rl is some mischievious webmasters simply delete their links pointing to you(maybe 2-3 months later) and living your link pointing to them as one-way-link. You become losers instead.

Fantastic Article and right on the money.

I have been testing this exact theory for the last 8 months with one of my sites and the results have been absolutely amazing when it comes to search engine rankings.

For the first few months I was taking it really slow monitoring everything and saw how fast everything had grown I even have pages indexed in Google virtually as I publish now so I decided to take it up a level.

I have been aggressively getting one way links to my site for the last month and have seen an increase of 300% in traffic since doing this. Using only articles that have been spread all over the internet on directories and virtually thousands of blog sites.

One thing I have realized to stay well clear of is reciprocal links it is a slow process and many webmaster do not keep your links active.

Great article. You are right link building is not only directory submission. As you mention, diversity is a key point and links should come from many different sites. Like your list and would only add forum to it. Participation in forums also contribute to links building. Thanks for sharing.
